The WAAW Foundation Global Youth Scholars Program (GYSP) provides an authentic African experience and an academic enrichment program for outstanding high school and early college students from around the world including Africa. Each summer, students (boys and girls) of 16 – 21 years arrive in Nigeria or Kenya to explore Africa and to participate in the two-week Social Entrepreneurship, Leadership and STEM programs at the WAAW Foundation’s campuses in Abuja Nigeria and Nairobi Kenya; and Nairobi Kenya. It is an invigorating, mind-blowing program that gives students to explore the Africa culture while developing innovative, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills.
Duration: 2 weeks per cohort.
Cohort 1 ( 3 – 17 July 2021, Abuja Nigeria)
Cohort 2 (25 July – 7th August 2021, Nairobi Kenya)
Camp Locations: Abuja, Nigeria, and Nairobi, Kenya.
Tuition: The WAAW Foundation GYSP Tuition covers all expenses other than travel insurance, airfare, spending money, and visa fees (if applicable). This includes 3 meals and 3 snacks each day, as well as entrance fees to all historic sites and attractions.
If you are accepted, you are expected to proceed to the payment of your tuition fee in order to reserve your place at the WAAW Foundation GYSP. Check out the tuition fee with the payment deadline below:
Early Birds: USD $2,500 – February 26th, 2021
Late payment: USD $2,700 – April 2nd, 2021
- Must be at least16 – 21 years old by the slated start date.
- Should be fluent in English language (Writing, speaking, and hearing).
- Should be currently enrolled in or recent graduate from high school (not an undergraduate student)
- All countries from around the world including all African countries are eligible to apply.
- Available to travel by July 2021
Note: The above eligibility criteria are in compliance with legal restrictions for running a summer program for minors, and no exceptions can be made.
